Coffee of the Month: March 2025 Close Reach Ethiopia Idido Yirgacheffe (Natural)

Set your course for extraordinary flavor with Close Reach Ethiopia Idido Yirgacheffe, our Limited Edition Coffee of the Month for March 2025. Inspired by the close reach, a sailing maneuver where a vessel points about 60° off the wind, this single-origin Ethiopian coffee captures the essence of balance, precision, and adventure in every sip.

Roasted to a smooth Medium-Light, just at first crack, this exceptional lot from Idido, Yirgacheffe unfolds with vibrant cupping notes of lemon, blueberry, strawberry, floral, chocolate, and creamy undertones. Sourced from the high-altitude farms of Alamayehu Gosaye at elevations between 2200-2400 MASL, this coffee thrives in rich Vertisol soil, producing a complex and dynamic flavor profile. The beans, composed of Wolisho, Dega, and local landrace varieties (74112 & 74110), undergo a meticulous Full Natural process and are dried on raised beds, a method that enhances their inherent fruit-forward characteristics.

Nestled in Ethiopia’s famed Gedeo Zone, Idido is a legendary coffee terroir, recognized for its striking complexity and floral elegance. Managed by Mesele Haile, the local processing station ensures that only the finest cherries are selected, carefully dried, and protected from humidity and scorching heat to preserve their exquisite taste.

Whether you’re charting a new course in your day or setting sail on an exciting creative endeavor, Close Reach Ethiopia Idido Yirgacheffe is your perfect companion. Secure your bag of this limited-edition roast while it lasts and experience the bold flavors of one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions.
